At the Klawunn, it's all about sharing, connecting and working together. Michaela and Markus Klawunn are hosts by conviction. Noticeably present, attentive, down-to-earth. Supported by their children Marie, Jakob and Julian as well as a team that has been part of the Klawunn family for many years. This ensures that the Klawunn spirit is passed on. From the parents to the children, from the guests to friends - and from the team out into life!

A story that sounds like sounds like a story to tell.
It all started with a decision: Markus' mother - a native of the region - met her husband in Karlsruhe, where they ran a café together. However, their longing for the mountains soon became so great that they bought a plot of land in Kaprun together and started a small guest house. In 1982, they added a second house and a mountain hut - today's Salzburger Hütte at 2,000 meters.
In 2000, Michaela and Markus took over the Klawunn guesthouse. Since then, the Salzburger Land Hotel Klawunn has developed slowly, consciously and with an eye for the essentials with a great deal of idealism, vision and foresight: an extension in 2009 and finally the major renovation in 2021. In between, a lot of honest work, many personal encounters - and a place that has begun to resonate.
This year, there is once again great news for our guests with the new, stylish panoramic terrace!

Klawunn is not a postcard-style family business. Klawunn is lived hospitality, where tone and vision go together - with humor, warmth and the necessary pinch of serenity. Markus is pragmatic, direct and charming - Michaela is the hostess with intuition and heart. The Klawunns are here because they want to be here. And because they believe that a good hotel does not invest in marble - but in humanity.
